Serhii Chumak was appointed as a member of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine from among judges by the decision of the High Council of Justice dated June 1, 2023.
After graduating from the university, in 1997–2004, he worked in various positions in the prosecution offices, in particular as the Deputy Head of the department of prosecutors in criminal proceedings of the Prosecutor’s Office of Donetsk Oblast.
From September 2004 to November 2010, he was a judge of the Zhovtnevyi District Court of Mariupol City, dealing with criminal, civil and administrative cases.
Since November 2010, he has been a judge of the Administrative Court of Appeal.
In 2014–2015 he was a member of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, four times in different years he was elected as a delegate to the Congress of Judges from the courts where he worked.
From June 06, 2023 he held the position of Secretary of the Second Chamber of the Commission, and from August 08, 2024 to August 07, 2026 – Secretary of the First Chamber of the Commission.
Serhii Chumak is a member of the Third Panel of the Commission.
