On July 12, 2023, the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the dismissal of Volodymyr Mazurko from the position of Vice-Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine due to his resignation.

Following the meeting, the Commission decided to dismiss Volodymyr Mazurko from his position.

On July 14 – 15, members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, with the support of the Pravo-Justice project of the European Union, took part in a strategic meeting.

The event was held with the participation of Oleksandra Baklanova, a strategy and change management expert who specializes in complex projects, developing and supporting the creation of strategies for business, civil society organizations, and reforms.

On July 14, 2023, Ruslan Sydorovych, Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, took part in the XI International Judicial and Legal Forum.

During the session on “Human Resources for Justice,” he focused on the issues left unresolved by the previous HQCJ and the key task, in his view, of selecting judges.

On 13 July 2023, Roman Ihnatov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, took part in the XI International Judicial and Legal Forum, organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House and the High Council of Justice. The event is attended by representatives of the High Council of Justice, the Council of Judges of Ukraine, the Supreme Court, the State Judicial Administration, judges, lawyers and other representatives of the legal community.

In accordance with the Order of the Chairman of the Commission No. 3 dated July 11, 2023, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine has initiated a procedure to assess the risks of corruption in its activities. In this connection, the Commission intends to establish a working group on the assessment of corruption risks in the activities of the Commission and proposes to include representatives of external stakeholders.

On July 10, 2023, at 13:00, the Commission will hold a meeting to consider the adoption of the Regulation on the automated system for determining the members of the Commission to prepare for the consideration and reporting of cases.

On July 5, 2023, the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, Roman Ihnatov held an online meeting with representatives of international rule of law assistance projects, organized with the support of the USAID Justice for All Program.

The event is dedicated to discussing the Commission’s plans and priorities for the near future.

On July 5, 2023, at a meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of submitting a proposal to the High Council of Justice on the inclusion of members of the HQCJ in the composition of the Commission on the Senior Civil Service in the Justice System was considered.

On July 5, 2023, at 13:00, the Commission will hold a meeting to consider the submission of proposals to the High Council of Justice to include members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine to the composition of the Commission on the Senior Civil Service in the Justice System.

According to part ten of Article 87 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges” (hereinafter – the Law), the Chairman of the Commission convenes a meeting of representatives of Public Associations. The announcement about the meeting shall be posted on the official website of the Commission.
