Competition for the Odesa Court of Appeal: One Candidate Confirmed His Ability to Administer Justice

On March 03, 2026, at the session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, interviews were conducted and the results of the qualification assessment of five candidates for the positions of judges in the Odesa Court of Appeal were determined.

Based on the results of the qualification assessment, the Commission took the following decisions:

Reminder for Judges And Candidates for Judicial Positions: the Annual Declaration Period is Ongoing

Commission draws the attention of current judges and candidates who are undergoing selection or competition procedures for the position of judge to the annual obligation to submit declarations of persons authorised to perform functions of the state or local self-government, as well as family ties and integrity.

Members of the HQCJ Participated In a Meeting of the Working Group On the Approval of the Commentary on the Code of Judicial Ethics

Members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine Ruslan Melnyk and Halyna Shevchuk took part in a meeting of the working group of the Council of Judges of Ukraine dedicated to the approval of the Commentary on the Code of Judicial Ethics (CJE). Members of the HQCJ had already worked as part of a working group on modernising the Code, the updated version of which was approved by a decision of the 20th regular Congress of Judges of Ukraine on September 18, 2024.

Announcement of a Special Joint Session of the Commission and the Public Council of International Experts on March 17, 2026

Please be informed that on March 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (9, General Shapoval St., Kyiv) will hold a special joint session with the Public Council of International Experts to consider the compliance of candidates for the positions of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court with the criteria set forth in Part Four of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Anti-Corruption Court”.

A Qualification Assessment and Qualification Exam Have Been Scheduled for Candidates for the Position of Judge in the Specialised Circuit Administrative Court and/or the Specialised Administrative Court of Appeal

Please be informed that on February 25, 2026, the Commission has scheduled a qualification assessment and qualification exam as part of the competitions for the Specialised Circuit Administrative Court and the Specialised Administrative Court of Appeal.

The order of the stages of the qualification exam is as follows:
