On July 19, 2023, the issue of secondment of judges to 21 courts is scheduled for consideration

In accordance with part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and Status of Judges”, a judge may be, upon his/her consent, seconded to another court of the same level and specialization to administer justice by a decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a proposal from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.

The Commission extended the deadline for consideration of the issue of judges’ secondment to three courts

On July 19, 2023, at the meeting of the First Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, it was decided to extend the term for consideration of the issue of judges’ secondment to three courts.

Having considered the notification of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine on the need to second judges, the Commission extended the term for consideration of the secondment of judges to:

Please be informed that on August 02, 2023, at the premises of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (Kyiv, 9 General Shapoval St.) the following issues will be considered:

1. On the secondment of judges to another court with their consent:

1) to the Ananivsk District Court of Odesa Region

- Liliia Shevchenko, judge of the Artemivsk City District Court of Donetsk Region.

2) to the Valky District Court of Kharkiv Region:

On July 18, 2023, the issue of early termination of the secondment of judges of three courts is scheduled for consideration

Please be informed that on August 2, 2023 at 13:00 at 9, General Shapoval Street, Kyiv, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine will consider the issue of the early termination of the secondment of judges:

1) of the Balakliya District Court of Kharkiv Region;

2) of the Novovorontsovka District Court of Kherson Region;

3) of the Kherson City Court of Kherson Region.

The Commission dismissed Volodymyr Mazurko from the post of Vice-Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine

On July 12, 2023, the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered the dismissal of Volodymyr Mazurko from the position of Vice-Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine due to his resignation.

Following the meeting, the Commission decided to dismiss Volodymyr Mazurko from his position.

Members of the HQCJ took part in the Strategic Session

On July 14 – 15, members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, with the support of the Pravo-Justice project of the European Union, took part in a strategic meeting.

The event was held with the participation of Oleksandra Baklanova, a strategy and change management expert who specializes in complex projects, developing and supporting the creation of strategies for business, civil society organizations, and reforms.

Ruslan Sydorovych was looking for a solution to the shortage of court personnel

On July 14, 2023, Ruslan Sydorovych, Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, took part in the XI International Judicial and Legal Forum.

During the session on “Human Resources for Justice,” he focused on the issues left unresolved by the previous HQCJ and the key task, in his view, of selecting judges.

Roman Ignatov spoke at the XI International Judicial and Legal Forum

On 13 July 2023, Roman Ihnatov, Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, took part in the XI International Judicial and Legal Forum, organized by the Yurydychna Praktyka Publishing House and the High Council of Justice. The event is attended by representatives of the High Council of Justice, the Council of Judges of Ukraine, the Supreme Court, the State Judicial Administration, judges, lawyers and other representatives of the legal community.
