The Commission’s Leadership met with representatives of the European Union “Pravo-Justice” Project

On June 16, 2023, the Chairman of the Commission Roman Ihnatov, Deputy Chairman of the Commission Ruslan Sydorovych, and the Head of the Commission’s Secretariat Olena Ponomarenko held an online working meeting with representatives of the European Union “Pravo-Justice” Project. The event, organized for the first time in such a format, was devoted to discussing the priorities and primary needs of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and potential areas of cooperation.

Meeting of the Commission on June 15, 2023

On June 15, 2023, at 13:00, the Commission will hold a meeting to consider applications of the Commission members for recusal, issues related to the peculiarities of distribution of cases (documents) by the automated system among the Commission members holding administrative positions, as well as issues related to the verification of practical assignments during the qualification exam scheduled by the decision of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine dated June 24, 2019 No. 107/zp-19.  

Results of the consideration by the Commission on June 12, 2023, regarding the issue of exercising the powers of the HQCJ on the temporary transfer (secondment) of judges

The meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine was attended by 12 members of the Commission: Roman Ihnatov, Ruslan  Sydorovych, Mykhailo Bohonis, Liudmyla Volkova, Vitalii Hatseliuk, Nadiia Kobetska, Oleh Koliush, Ruslan Melnyk, Andrii Pasichnyk, Roman Sabodash, Serhii Chumak, Halyna Shevchuk.

The Chairman of the HQCJ Roman Ihnatov on work priorities and fake news about russian citizenship, first interview

On June 1, 2023, the High Council of Justice appointed 16 members of the new High Qualification Commission of Judges. On June 6, the Judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal Roman Ihnatov was elected as the Chairman of the HQCJ by a majority of the Commission’s members. For more than 3,5 years, when the HQCJ did not have a full composition, the judiciary has accumulated a huge number of personnel problems.

The Conference “Freedom of Speech for Judges and the Role of Judicial Associations in a Democratic State Governed by the Rule of Law” was held

On June 9, 2023, Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine Ruslan Sydorovych took part in the Conference “Freedom of Speech for Judges and the Role of Judicial Associations in a Democratic State Governed by the Rule of Law”, which lasted for two days in Lviv.

The Secretaries of the Chambers of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine were elected

On June 6, 2023, at the organizational meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, Serhii Chumak, the Judge of the Third Administrative Court of Appeal, was elected as the Secretary of the Qualification Chamber (14 votes), and Ruslan Melnyk, Senior Detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, was elected as the Secretary of the Chamber on Selection and Public Service of Judges (13 votes).

Ruslan Sydorovych was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine

On June 6, 2023, at the organizational meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, Ruslan Sydorovych, the lawyer, was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Commission. The decision was supported by 13 members of the Commission.

The meeting was attended by 14 members of the Commission: Mykhailo Bohonis, Liudmyla Volkova, Vitalii Hatseliuk, Roman Ihnatov, Roman Kydysiuk, Nadiia Kobetska, Oleh Koliush, Ruslan Melnyk, Oleksii Omelian, Andrii Pasichnyk, Roman Sabodash, Ruslan Sydorovych, Serhii Chumak, Halyna Shevchuk.

Roman Ihnatov is elected as the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine

On June 6, 2023, at the organizational meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, Roman Ihnatov, a judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, was elected as the Chairman of the Commission. In favor, the respective decision was supported by nine members of the Commission.
