Commission submits motion to dismiss three judges

On December 18, 2023, the Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, at its meeting, considered the issue of submitting a motion to the High Council of Justice to dismiss a judge from his or her position.

Based on the results of the qualification evaluation, three judges were found to not correspond to the position held. The Commission decided to submit a motion to the HCJ for dismissal:

On December 14, 2023, the Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, at its meeting, held interviews and determined the results of the qualification evaluation of two local court judges for their compliance with the position held.

Based on the results of the qualification evaluation for the compliance with the position held, the Commission made the following decisions:

Members of the Commission Liudmyla Volkova and Nadiia Kobetska took part in judge trainings in Poland

On December 5 and 6, 2023, the National School of Judges of Ukraine and the Programme “Competence Development for the Legal Sector of Ukraine” jointly organised an offsite training for judges on war crimes in Poland, which was attended by members of the Commission Liudmyla Volkova and Nadiia Kobetska.

On November 24 and 25, 2023, the Roundtable “Judicial integrity and professional ethics: standards and practice of evaluation” was held in Kyiv. The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine was represented by the Secretary of the First Chamber of the HQCJ Ruslan Melnyk, and members of the Commission Vitalii Gatseliuk and Oleh Koliush.
