Competition for the Courts of Appeal: Five Candidates Confirmed Their Ability to Administer Justice in the Commercial Court of Appeal, and Two in the Zhytomyr Court of Appeal

On August 04, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, in plenary session, considered the issue of confirming the ability of eight candidates for the position of judge to administer justice in the Commercial Court of Appeal and two candidates in the Zhytomyr Court of Appeal.

Based on the results of the session, the Commission adopted the following decisions:

To the Attention of Candidates for Positions of Judges of Administrative and Commercial Courts of Appeal

Please be informed, that on August 04, 2025, the Commission adopted a decision approving the procedure for submitting applications by candidates for vacant positions of judges in the administrative and commercial courts of appeal within the framework of the competition announced by the Commission’s decision No. 94/zp-23 of September 14, 2023 (as amended), applications for the position of judge, specifying the specific court.

Regarding Testing of General Knowledge in the Field of Law and Knowledge of the Specialisation of the Relevant Court

The testing of general knowledge in the field of law and knowledge of the specialisation of the relevant court, scheduled by the Commission on July 25, 2025, as part of the qualification exam for candidates for the position of local court judge and for judges intending to be transferred to another local court, will be held from August 05 to August 26, 2025, at two locations:

According to part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, a judge may, with his or her consent, be seconded to another court of the same level and specialisation to administer justice by a decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a submission from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.

Competition for Commercial Courts of Appeal: Two Candidates Confirmed Their Ability to Administer Justice, One Candidate Did Not Confirm

On August 01, 2025, the Second Chamber of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine held interviews and determined the results of the qualification evaluation of four candidates for the positions of judges of the commercial courts of appeal.

On July 30, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, in plenary session, considered the issue of confirming the ability of three candidates for the position of judge to administer justice in the administrative court of appeal and three candidates in the commercial court of appeal.

Based on the results of the session, the Commission adopted the following decisions:

On July 29, 2025, at the sessions of the Panels of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, interviews were held and the results of the qualification assessment of five candidates for the positions of judges of the Sumy Court of Appeal were determined.

Based on the results of the qualification assessment, the Commission made the following decisions:
