The Commission recommended the appointment of the winner of the competition for the position of a judge of the Bashtanskyi Raion Court of Mykolayiv Oblast

On April 03, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, in the composition of the Panel, interviewed the winner of the competition for vacant positions of local court judges announced on September 14, 2023.

Based on the results of the interview, the Commission decided to recommend the appointment of Tetiana Hapieieva as a judge of the Bashtanskyi Raion Court of Mykolayiv Oblast.

The issue of secondment of judges to the Berdychivskyi City-Raion Court of Zhytomyr Oblast is scheduled for consideration

According to part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, a judge may, with his or her consent, be seconded to another court of the same level and specialization to administer justice by a decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a submission from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.

The issue of declarations of three judges was considered

On April 01, 2025, the Panel of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine considered notifications of information that may indicate the inaccuracy (including incompleteness) of the information and statements provided by judges in their declarations of family ties and integrity.

Based on the results of the meeting, the Commission made the following decisions:

Deadlines for the submission of documents in the competition to the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court have been postponed

On March 31, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine decided to postpone the submission period for documents and applications for participation in the competition for 10 vacant judicial positions in the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court. The new submission period will run from June 01, 2025, to June 30, 2025, inclusive. 

Selection for the position of a local court judge: summary of the main document submission period

On March 30, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine completed the main period for accepting documents from candidates intending to participate in the selection process for the position of a local court judge (military personnel may submit documents until May 01, 2025, inclusive). This selection process has set a record for the number of participants, with 8,549 candidates applying for the position of a judge and 594 judges expressing their intention to be transferred to another court. 

The Commission recommended to the High Council of Justice the appointment of two winners of the competition for the position of judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court

On March 31, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in plenary session considered the issue of conducting interviews with winners of the competition for vacant judicial positions in the High Anti-Corruption Court, as part of the competition announced by the Commission on November 23, 2023.

Based on the results of the meeting, the Commission decided to recommend to the High Council of Justice the appointment of Olena Chernova and Tetiana Lytvynko as judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Consideration of the issue of suitability of the judge of the Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv City for the position held has been postponed

On March 31, 2025, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in plenary session considered the issue of suitability of the judge of the Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv City Volodymyr Makarenko for the position held.

Based on the results of the meeting, the Commission decided to grant the request of a judge of the Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv City Volodymyr Makarenko and postpone the consideration of the issue until April 14, 2025.

The issue of secondment of judges to Zhytomyrskyi Raion Court of Zhytomyr Oblast is scheduled for consideration

According to part one of Article 55 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, a judge may, with his or her consent, be seconded to another court of the same level and specialization to administer justice by a decision of the High Council of Justice adopted on the basis of a submission from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
